Get ready to see the alphabet like never before as artists explore letters not just as symbols, but as shapes, textures, and tiny sculptures waiting to be discovered. Each session focuses on a new art process, from watercolor and crayon resist paintings that reveal hidden letters, to tactile fiber art alphabets you can touch and feel. We'll turn recycled materials into a one-of-a-kind upcycled alphabet, and build our way to spelling out favorite words with colorful popsicle sticks. Young artists will strengthen fine motor skills, letter recognition, and creative thinking — all while experimenting with a new medium each week.This cool class is for young independent artists ready to learn and create! Art Buddies explores a variety of art forms, including drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, cardboard sculpture, and weaving. Each week, we’ll explore new techniques and ideas, giving young creators the freedom to express themselves in unique and meaningful ways. Through fun, hands-on activities, artists begin to explore basic key art concepts, artists and history, building the tools they’ll need to grow as creators. Working together in a collaborative environment, little artists will enjoy making, teamwork and creativity. Guided by both peers and our instructor, participants will experience the joy of creating within a community, where ideas are shared, and every creation is valued.Each 6 week session offers a new area of concentration and exploration and is open to any participant regardless of previous participation. Please come dressed in clothes you are comfortable getting messy.
