Explore the art and wonder of weaving in this class for young creators. Kiddos will discover weaving through a variety of materials and techniques. From paper to fiber weaving, we will experiment with both traditional methods as well as creative, unexpected approaches. This class encourages exploration, craftsmanship, and expression through weaving. From baskets to tapestries, we’ll have a great introduction to this wonderful art form.
No experience necessary all supplies included
Bring water bottle This enriching class is thoughtfully designed for both new and experienced creators eager to explore their ideas and develop new skills. Participants will engage in creating 2-D and 3-D works using a variety of mediums, including drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, mixed media, sculpture, and fiber arts. Throughout each session, we will incorporate discussion of influential artists, major art movements, and apply fundamental concepts like the elements and principles of design and color theory. Over the course of each six-week session, students will explore a variety of concepts while collaborating with peers and the instructor, fostering a supportive sense of community.Each 6 week session offers a new area of concentration and exploration and is open to any participant regardless of previous participation. Please come dressed in clothes you are comfortable getting messy in.
